1. I would like to sell an instrument and track who will play it in the future. Is this possible with Merito String Instruments Trust?

Yes, Merito String Instruments Trust supports you in selling your instrument by assisting in finding a music-loving investor who shows willingness to make the instrument available to the current borrower or another talented musician. If you wish, we will establish a personal connection with the musician.

2. I would like to support a musician but I am not familiar with the instrument market. How should I proceed?

If you already know the musician, we assist in selecting an instrument suitable for his or her needs and handle all the steps of the purchase process and subsequent loan.

3. I am a musician. How can I apply to borrow an instrument?

Please contact Merito String Instruments Trust directly.

4. Do you only support orchestral musicians or also soloists?

We support outstanding orchestral and chamber musicians as well as soloists.

5. Do you only support Austrian musicians?

Austrian citizenship is not a requirement for support from Merito String Instruments Trust. However, investors often value being able to hear the musician perform in Austria at concerts.

6. What is the price range if I want to purchase a historic string instrument?

Prices start at approximately €300,000. High-quality historic string instruments from famous violin makers with excellent provenance can cost significantly more.

7. Can I purchase privately or only as a company? And can I use the instrument for marketing purposes?

Both options are available to you. Your commitment can also support your marketing activities.

8. Do you assist with selecting and contacting a musician?

We are happy to help you choose a suitable musician and establish a personal connection, if desired.

9. What administrative tasks should I expect when lending an instrument?

As part of the management agreement with Merito String Instruments Trust, we take care of all administrative tasks related to the instrument loan.

10. What obligations does the musician have?

The musician must pay the annual insurance premium and have the condition of the instrument checked and documented once a year.
